“I never use a cordless, or stand applaud-less.”
True that. Black Thought, the greatest MC of all-time (and front man of the greatest hip hop band ever, The Roots) rocking the stage at the Metropolis in Montreal, 9 days ago on March 25, 2007. As you can see, I had a great view from front row centre. The Philly boys tore the house down for 2 hours and 40 minutes(!). It’s my favourite concert to date (already looking forward to the next time that I get to see The Legendary in action). And I’m currently on the lookout for the 7 For All Mankind/Great China Wall hoodie that Thought is sporting in the above pic. Mr. Trotter has great fashion sense, no doubt.
ps. The setlist (the most integral prop of the evening, IMO) was thrown into the crowd by Hub…and I caught it…for the second year in a row (I snatched it last year as well when I saw the The Roots at the same venue). I plan on making it a tri-fecta next time out. Ahhh, the benefits of prime seating standing.
