The Streets - Everything Is Borrowed
Beautifully tragic (and very relevant) music video of arguably the best song of 2008 (IMO). But what makes this video even more beautiful is the actress portraying Mike Skinner’s wife: the stunningly gorgeous Amelia Warner, also known as my absolute favourite part of the entertaining and loosely based Marquis de Sade docu-drama Quills (where she played the mysterious Simone).
But do you know what’s even more amazing/crazy/weird about all this? (yes, I could feel your inquisitive mind wondering) A couple of months ago, I had a lovely dream about Amelia (as we all do with our crushes) and in that dream, I swear to you that she was in a music video (the song of which was not clear to me at the time…may or may not have been by The Streets…joke). And no, I’m not lying, because this is a cheesy-ass post that couldn’t possibly get any cheesier if I had made any of this sappy stuff up.
Anyways, great movie, that Quills (with a stellar ensemble cast). Why I’ve never owned this film on DVD is beyond me (I’ll definitely check for the Blu-Ray). As for the beautiful music video, it appears that almost a decade later the lovely Miss Warner still has that ability to stop me dead in my tracks to admire her beauty [/cheesetastic!]. Yes, I’m a dork for writing all of this (especially in this very late night hour). Enjoy the embedded (or borrowed) video.
