The very cool Javier Bardem as Juan Antonio Gonzalo with some words to the wise in Woody Allen’s Vicky Cristina Barcelona (2008). I simply loved this film as it was everything I had hoped it would be (for lack of a less cliched explanation). And you can’t ask for anything more than that.

Useless tidbit: My real name is in fact Juan Antonio (although my last name is not Gonzalo but another Spanish surname that I will not disclose here). And until now I’ve never seen a predominantly english speaking film (let alone from one of my favourite auteurs) where the entire name of Juan Antonio was mentioned so many times over the course of its duration. But because I’m so vain, that repetitiveness did not hurt my admiration for the film one bit (haha). Feel free to read my mini-review of VCB right here (located under the alias Kubrickhouse).
